Henna Tips/Suggestions

  • Body waxing/shaving/ exfoliating should be done 1-2 days before your appointment. Doing this after your henna is done will impede the color results.
  • Pedicure and manicures should be done at least a day before henna appointment. Please skip all massage oils, and body lotions on your appointment day as this can impede color results. Wash your hands with soap before henna application.
  • Wear comfortable clothes to do your henna in
  • Try to take the steam of cloves on your arms after your henna is applied for best stain results.
  • Lemon sugar sealant is a great way to seal your henna and stay on your skin for longer, hence resulting in dark staining .
  • Natural henna takes about 20 minutes to dry. Keep your natural henna paste for atleast 4-6 hours, best if left overnight, and warm. Do not wash it, instead just scrape it off using a butter knife or finger nails. You can apply any kind of oil if the henna is too dry to remove.

Jagua gel takes 30 minutes to dry and can be washed off in 2 hours.

White henna takes 30 minutes to dry and peels off as early as 3 hours and might last until washed.

Colorful henna takes 30 minutes to dry and peels off and stains the same color as the gel on the skin right away and lasts 3-5 days

  • Natural Henna stains will be bright orange at first, and darken within 24-48 hours to reach peak color results of deep reddish-brown and up to dark cherry tones. Lasts 5-7 days

Jagua gel stains light blue/ gray at first and darkens within 24-48 hours to reach a dark blue- black color. Lasts 7-10 days

  • Please make sure to rub Vicks Vaporub Balm after removing natural henna all over the areas where the henna designs are to ensure best stain results.
  • Henna makes your skin dry, and thus results in exfoliation. This will make your henna to fade away quicker, so keep the area moisturized to prevent exfoliation of the skin.
  • Do not do any scrubbing, dish washing, nor have excessive contact with water at least the first 2 days. You can use gloves.
